- Year of notification of rice was in 1989.
- This paddy variety takes about 105 days to grow.
- It is grown in irrigated areas.
- The plant size is semi dwarf ( 95 cm ).
- The grain is short bold.
- It is resistant to leaf yellowing brown spot, blast, brown plant
hopper, green leaf hopper and moderately resistant to bacterial leaf
blight, rice tungru virus, gall midge and leaf hopper.
- Its yield is 63 quintals/hectare.
- It is grown in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andhra Pradesh.
