Various features of this variety of rice are as follows :
  • This variety of rice is a cross between ADT 36 and CO 45. Year of notification was in 2002.
  • The plant height is semi-dwarf (100 cm).
  • It takes about 135 days to grow.
  • The grains have high hulling (79.6 per cent) and milling (72 per cent) rates, and the head recovery is 61.5 per cent.
  • ADT (R) 46 is non-lodging. It is recommended for growing as a transplanted crop in the irrigated lands.
  • The grains have higher crude protein and amylose content.
  • It is grown in Tamil Nadu.
  • The variety registered an impressive high yield over the other varieties tested, according to Tamil Nadu Agriculture University.
