Himalaya Rice
This variety of rice is best
grown in Himachal Pradesh. It has two main types :
- Himalaya-1
- It is grown in low medium and higher hills.
- The plant height is semi dwarf.
- The grain is long slender, fine, resistant to blast, stem
borer and rice hispa, moderately susceptible to glume blotch and
brown spot.
- Its yield is 38 quintals/hactare.
- Himalaya-2
- It is grown in low and mid hills.
- The plant height is semi dwarf.
- The grain is long bold, scented, resistant to blast, stem
borer and rice hispa, susceptible to glume blotch and brown
spot.
- Its Yield is 35 quintals/hactare.
